So in order hit someone on the right cheek (Mat 5:39), you would probably have to back hand them with your right hand (because using your left hand to strike someone was a cultural faux pas). The action of back handing someone was very degrading to the receiver of the blow, as if they were a lesser class of person (ie slave).
