growth is almost always on the frontier of weakness, and rarely in the comfort of strength. should our strengths be understood in the context of our weakness or vice versa? i believe that weaknesses become optional in the context of strengths, while strengths become the tools to face adversity in the context of weakness. we can’t merely focus on one side of the coin. focusing on weakness becomes hopeless and discouraging, focusing on our strengths turns to overconfidence and arrogance. only weakness and only strength come self-centered. i think that God’s strength is made perfect in our weakness. weakness is our context, our foundation where God’s strength is made perfect and our (God-given) strengths are redeemed in use and result.
